Inter-District Road Infrastructure and Spatial Inequality in Rural Indonesia

Road quality plays an important role, especially in rural areas where most poor households are situated. This study aims to calculate the Rural Access Index (RAI), indicator of road (SDG 9.1.1), at district level, evaluate implementation Nawacita programme Indonesia from 2014–2020. The RAI describes proportion residents who live within 2 km all-season road. recommends utilisation network maps, urban–rural boundary three condition datasets, and WorldPop data RAI. results show that during this period, increased its inequality decreased, specifically regions priority for (Papua West Papua). also capture a strong pattern regional convergence. To ensure future success implementation, government can create regulations designate several infrastructure projects as national strategy, well increase tax collection private sector investment sources development funding.
